I had breast reconstruction after mastectomy in 1993 and it turned out well. In 1999 I gained 30 pounds(from 90 lbs to 120 lbs)and the fat formed around the implant instead of over it causing the implant to move about 2 inches toward my underarm. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you have it corrected?
What did your surgeon say? Did he/she advise getting another implant or any other corrective surgery? You are so slight that the 30 pounds for you might be 75 for another person. My research has not shown me any examples of weight gain causing an implant to move toward an underarm. See at least one other plastic surgeon with experience in implants for reconstruction to get a clearer picture of what your options are. Please keep me posted.
