I am 18 years old. Five days ago, I had rhinoplastic surgery and a chin surgery to accomodate the new nose. I have been healing very fast, with very little swelling under my eyes. But I have lost the feeling on my face from the lower lip down. My chin is numb, and a little swollen. I was told that it was due to the muscles being moved and something to do with the nerves, and I understand the consequences of having a surgery such as this, but it really worries me. I was wondering if you could tell me, from your experience, how long does it generally take for the numbness to go away? I knoq that it varies, but a rough estimate would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks. Michelle
Dear Michele,
You are very shortly post-op so I want you to relax. It could take up to six months to have the numbness go away. Please give it a chance to mellow out.
Keep me posted!
My best,
Susan Gail
