Hi I had a facelift and bleph. lower lid done 5 days ago. My face looks more swollen today the 5th day and my eye is bloodshot the right eye. Is this normal. I look like a monster. Some of the swelling underneath my eyes have gone down though is is still some swelling. I have been using warm compresses as directed past the 3rd day after surgery like I was instructed using the ice packs the first three day?Is this normal? Has anybody had this done?
Recovering from surgery is often a harrowing experience. Unfortunately, surgeons do not give their patients enough information regarding the recovery process. The operative word being "process". You will be swollen for months and every day will be better, I promise. As for the right eye, breaking capillaries within the eye can sometimes occur after a blepheroplasty. Have you seen your surgeon? I would consider using bags of frozen peas for the swelling. When I had my eyes done it worked wonders for me. Relax as best you can and know that the monster in the mirror is short lived. I am sending you healing energy!
Keep in touch.
