I attempted to have botox injections, how ever the pain was so intensive from the medication going in, the Dr. stopped. He thought I may be allergic due to the immediate redness and severe burning I was feeling from the medication. Do you agree? Could antidepressants affect my pain sensitivity. He did not ask, and I did not mention I was taking those (effexor 225 mg). I really would like to try the injections, but I was told to expect no more pain than a mosqito bite. The needle did not bother me.
Call the doc and ask about the drugs you are on. Someone shpuld have asked that immediately. Also, find out how much they diluted the botox and with what.
If you have an allergic reaction, obviously Botox is not for you.
I hope this helps.
My best,
Susan Gail
