My daughter had silicone cheek implants placed along with jaw surgery in 2005. Last summer,she was diagnosed with discoid lupus and has a butterfly rash with any sun exposure. We have no family history of lupus or other autoimmune diseases. Could the cheek implants be the cause? If so, would removing them help?
